Tyler Groff
I am Tyler Groff. I am currently attending The Master’s Seminary (www.tms.edu) hoping to earn a Master of Divinity. My local church while attending seminary is Grace Community Church (www.gracechurch. org) in Sun Valley, CA. The Lord has blessed me with some incredible ministry opportunities through Grace Church. One is, my time serving in the college ministry (www.crossroadsministry.net) and secondly, my time serving in the Shepherd’s Conference. The Lord has blessed my time out here and I look forward to what He is going to do in the future.
David Williams
I was born on April 25, 1983 in Raleigh, North Carolina to Michael and Dale Williams. My parents brought me up in Cary, North Carolina. We went to White Plains United Methodist Church where I became actively involved in the youth group and other activities. In spite of my involvement at church, my life outside of church was not one of true Christian discipleship. However, in May of 2000 the Lord blessed me with genuine conviction of sin and opened my eyes to my need for Jesus Christ that I might trust in Him. The Lord has brought me a long ways since then, through many mistakes and misdeeds on my part, into a closer walk with Him.
The Lord has shaped me most over these past few years through the writings of C.S. Lewis, John Piper and Jonathan Edwards. Through Lewis I gained a passion for clear, rigorous thinking and for the defense of the faith. He sparked in me the love for Christian apologetics and theology that has brought me to Westminster Seminary. Through Piper and Edwards I came to see and love God's supremacy and centrality in all things. They were the first to introduce me to the cogency, simplicity and beauty of the Reformed faith.
I am currently a student at Westminster Theological Seminary near Philadelphia pursuing a Masters of Arts in Religion degree in Biblical studies. My hope is to go on to earn a doctorate in philosophy after graduating from Westminster and to teach philosophy at a university or college.
Tyler Nance
I am Tyler Nance. I was born in Charlotte, NC. My parents raised me as a Christian, and we went to a good, Bible teaching church. Though I never went through a stage of overt rebellion against my parents, my heart was far from God. When I came to UNCW for college, I went through a brief stage of loneliness and misery, and I quit attending church for a short while. Through God’s providence, a CCC bulletin came my way, and it prompted me to give the church a shot. My life was getting ready to take an unpredictable turn for the better. Under the preaching of Paul Phillips, I was moved and convicted by the word of God. The Lord ministered to me in the most incredible way through CCC. After more than three years at CCC, I grew closer in my relationship with the Lord, and seminary seemed like the next logical step for me as I desired to learn more about my Lord and his word.
I am currently attending Reformed Theological Seminary in Charlotte, NE with the intention of earning of Master of Divinity. My local church, while in seminary, is Back Creed Presbyterian Church (ARP). So far, my time here at seminary has been fruitful; I am looking forward to the future to see how GOd will use the pastoral, biblical, and theological training that I am receiving at RTS.
