MISSIONARIES TO SPAIN PONTUS, BECKY, KEILA, NICOLE, AARON & JOEL KARNSUND
Sharing God's story with the people of the Basque Country
Pontus and Becky Kärnsund are working on establishing a Bible association, where people can freely come to study the Bible through individual and group classes, conferences and Bible exhibitions. The Kärnsunds are also ministering through the BIDAIA-theJourney, who currently consist of two monthly meetings, one in Basque and one in English. The meetings consist of children’s Bible story and activities, while the adults meet in a relaxed atmosphere to read and discuss the Bible.
A number of years ago, a Spanish MK met a Swedish man on the coasts of Mexico. They got engaged in Paris, married in Spain, and moved to Sweden to start their life as one. Although raised in two different worlds, they both found a personal relationship with God through the reading of his Word. God’s story became their story, and having changed their lives, their passion became to share that story with whoever would listen.
After four years of seminary training in Sweden, Pontus and Becky arrived to the north of Spain in 2004 to a town called Zarautz. Surrounded by the Basque people, they have found a growing need for the people to know what their Bibles say, to see that they can have a direct relationship with God himself.
Pontus and Becky, along with their four children, Keila, Nicole, Aaron and Joel, are excited to find ways to take the message of the Bible to the people, believing that God’s Word has the power to change lives.
