Community Groups

 

What is a Community Group?

  • Basic Christian Communities – “a family within a family”
  • Gathering of 6-12 people meeting in homes, apartments, church, etc.
  • In these communities, people come to know God and experience His presence.
  • People are nurtured, equipped, and released for God’s work in the world.
  • Provide an opportunity for intimacy, support, love, service, Christian edification, prayer, and sharing what God is doing in lives.

Purpose of Community Groups: To provide a place

  • To meet with and experience Jesus Christ.
  • For fellowship and friendship
  • Where gifts are exercised
  • To discover Christianity

Four vital ingredients of a healthy Community Group:

  1. Worship
  2. Prayer, Share, and Care
  3. Biblical Study
  4. Service, Missions, or Mercy ministry

How do Community Groups fit into Christ Community Church?

Community Groups are the primary place for pastoral care and leadership development. Care and encouragement of the church body occurs here. While many churches HAVE Community Groups, we would like to see Christ Community ChurchBE Community Groups!

Distinctives of Community Groups at Christ Community Church:

  • Primary place for nurture
  • Led by skilled leaders
  • Leaders are well-supported
  • Groups meet at least twice a month
  • Groups must be committed to MULTIPLYING
  • Groups must be committed to developing new leaders through APPRENTICESHIP.
