Christ Community Church

College Ministry

The College Ministry at Christ Community Church exists to glorify God by calling college students to become mature, equipped followers of Jesus Christ who bring their families, campuses, and the world into a life-transforming relationship with Jesus Christ. We value:

  • Peer Community: We believe that students benefit from relationships with Christian peers for accountability and encouragement.
  • Cross-Generational Relationships: We believe that relationships with people both older and younger than ourselves is an important aspect in one's spiritual growth. We help foster this value with mentorships, ministry opportunities, and cross-generational small groups.
  •  Church Involvement: We believe that consistent involvement within a church body is essential to spiritual growth during the college years. This may include being part of a community group, journey group, Sunday school class, or serving in one of our ministries.
  • Incarnational Ministry: God made himself knowable to mankind by going to them in human form. Therefore, our ministry makes Jesus knowable to college students by going to them and meeting them at their point of need; which may include sharing the Gospel, introducing them to a Christian peer community, or connecting them in a mentor-relationship with an adult member of CCC.

Bible Studies

During the school year, we partner with Young Life for guys' and girls' bible studies, which happen every Wednesday night at 8:00. Email Shaunna (shaunna@cccwnc.com) for more information and directions!

Mentors and Mentor Families

If you are interested in growing in Christ and being challenged and encouraged as you walk with Him, we'd love to help you find a mentor. The mentoring relationships all look different but with a common goal: to encourage you in your relationship with Christ as you walk with Him as a college student. Some students meet one on one with a member of our church and some spend time with a CCC family. If you have questions about the mentoring program or would like a CCC mentor please contact the CCC Office at 784-1991 or email Shaunna Kennedy at shaunna@cccwnc.com.

Fellowship Lunches and Dinners

One Sunday a month, one of our CCC families hosts a college luncheon following the Sunday service. This is a great oppottunity for college students to fellowship with their peers, as well as connect with members of the church.  Luncheons are always posted in the bulletin and directions can be found on the information table in the church lobby. Additionally, we also meet for dinner one Sunday a month at the home of Pastor Paul Phillips for a time of fellowship and discussion. This is a wonderful opportunity to share a meal with other students while also gaining further insight and encouragement in applying the week's sermon.
