Paul Phillips, Senior Pastor



Paul was born in Fort Benning, Georgia.  He earned his BS in Sports Management from Furman University and worked for the Atlanta Braves Public Relations Department.  In 1987, Paul joined Young Life staff and served as the Wilmington area director for 13 years. 

Paul completed his MDiv at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary in 2001 and became CCC’s founding pastor in 2002.  He’s married to Nancy, and they have two grown children.

David Heinrichs, assistant Pastor - family and music ministry



David was born and raised in Los Angeles and attended Cal State Fresno, graduating with a BA in Anthropology and a MA in Linguistics.  He intended to become a Wycliffe Bible translator, but soon realized that teaching was his true passion.  After spending 5 years teaching Linguistics and ESL at the college level in California and Japan, David, and his wife Shelley, moved to Wilmington to start a family.  He taught 6 years at Leland Middle School before hearing the call of God into full-time ministry. 

In 2006, David was hired to lead the music, college and youth ministries at CCC.  He has since graduated with an MA in Biblical Studies from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary, and is now the Pastor of Education and Youth.   David and his wife, Shelley, have two daughters.

Mark DeCausmeaker, Executive Pastor



Mark has lived in Wilmington for the last twelve years with his bride of 35 years, Carol. He has a BS in Information Technology and an MBA from the University of Phoenix and is currently pursuing a Masters in Religion through Reformed Theological Seminary. Mark has worked for Reeds Jewelers for the past 23 years and is currently the Director of Multi-Channel Sales, where he oversees Ecommerce and Consumer Credit. He began attending Christ Community Church in 2006 and he served as Treasurer for two years before being called to serve as an Elder for the last six years.

Sam Kennedy, Director of College ministry and adult discipleship



Sam was born in upstate New York and moved to Wilmington in 1997.  He graduated from UNC-Chapel Hill with degrees in both Communication Studies and Romance Languages.  He and his wife, Shaunna, have two children.

Sharon Radford, director of Nursery And k5 ministry



Sharon was born and raised in Fayetteville, North Carolina.  She worked part-time at CCC for two years in the Children's Ministry and Tutoring Program before coming on as full-time staff in August of 2016.  She taught in both public and private schools for twenty years. Sharon and her husband, Max, have three children. 

Sarah Anderson, office manager



Sarah was born in Dublin, Georgia, and grew up in Greensboro, North Carolina.  She moved to Wilmington in 2010 to attend UNCW, where she earned her BS in Recreation Therapy.  Sarah and her husband, John, were married in October 2016!
 

Kellie Spittel, Youth associate



Kellie was born and raised in Creedmoor, North Carolina.  She moved to Wilmington to attend UNCW and has a major in Biology.  Kellie came on staff at CCC in 2014 to intern in our youth program.  She married her husband, Grayson, in June of 2016!

Elizabeth Cooper
YCM and Community Outreach Coordinator



Elizabeth was born and raised in Charlotte, North Carolina. She earned a BA in Romance Languages with a concentration in Spanish from UNC-Chapel Hill. Prior to working at CCC, she interpreted in the medical field and taught Spanish in schools in both North Carolina and Georgia. She has served as a volunteer in the Tutoring Program since 2013. Elizabeth and her husband, Will, have one daughter.

Louisa Belk
Finance Director



Louisa is a Wilmington native and graduated from UNCW with a BS in Accounting and Computer Science. After graduation, Louisa served for 8 years as a Systems Programmer for the NC State Ports Authority supporting the Accounting department in computer operations and reporting. She also worked for several years for ePlus Technology as a contractor, training individuals in Microsoft Office products and Quick Books. For the last 17 years Louisa served as the Technology Director for Myrtle Grove Christian School. Louisa and her husband Geoff have been married for 32 years and have three children. They joined Christ Community Church in 2003 and have served in K-5 Sunday school, the tutoring program, women's ministry, and on mission trips to Haiti and Romania.

Matt McFarling, Ministry Apprentice



Matt was born and raised in Raleigh, North Carolina.  He recently graduated Magna Cum Laude from UNCW with B.A. Film Studies and a minor in Entrepreneurship.  He was also volunteer Young Life leader at New Hanover High School from 2013-2017.  Matt is now a Ministry Apprentice Program (MAP) intern at Christ Community Church with a focus in the High School Ministry.


Raven Jennings, Ministry Apprentice



Raven moved to North Carolina in 2014 to attend UNCW from Kansas City, Missouri. She recently graduated with a B.S. in Exercise Science and is a certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist. Raven is now on staff as a Ministry Apprentice Program (MAP) Intern at CCC, serving in both the Children’s and College ministries.



Sam Huskey, Youth Intern



Sam was born and raised in Spruce Pine, North Carolina. She left the mountains to attend UNCW and is graduating in the spring of 2018 with a degree in Environmental Studies as well as two minors in Non-Profit Management and Political Science. Sam has been a middle school youth leader for the past year and a half and has recently joined staff in June 2017 as our high school intern.

Cody Carpenter, Youth Intern



Cody was born in Lincolnton, NC. After high school he joined the Marines for 5 years and traveled around the world, including 2 years of living in Japan. It was in Japan where he knew he wanted to work in youth ministry.  

When he got back to the States, he immediately started ministering to young people. He is now a Junior at UNCW and is pursuing a Middle Grades Education degree. Cody has served in CCC's middle school ministry for over a year and is now one of our youth interns.
